Current representation of the African situation.
In both Kobo and the Chenna area, residents told Amnesty International that fighters from Tigray had stolen property from their homes and shops and looted and vandalized public property, including medical centers and schools. Due to the looting and destruction of medical facilities, rape survivors and other residents in need of medical assistance could not get care locally and had to wait weeks to access a hospital in Debark, Gondar, or Bahir Dar. It was too long a time for rape survivors to receive essential post-rape care, some of which must be given within 72 hours. “These atrocities bring back to the table the need for swift action by the international community to investigate abuses by all sides, hold those responsible to account and ensure the rights of survivors,” said Sarah. Jackson. “The international community has been failing victims and survivors of crimes under international law in Ethiopia for too long. The United Nations and the African Union should send relevant investigative teams to the region. The international commission of human rights experts on Ethiopia, established by the UN Human Rights Council in December, must also be authorized to begin its work and obtain permission to enter the country as soon as possible.”
The Nigerian authorities are failing the children, as at least 61 remain captive in the north of the country months after they were abducted by bandits during massive attacks on schools that also disrupted the education of thousands of schoolchildren and subjected them to horrific and degrading treatment during their captivity, Amnesty International Nigeria said today.
Children are often abducted from orphanages, schools, and places of worship and held captive for weeks, sometimes turning into months depending on whether or when their abductors’ demands are met. They are sometimes ambushed on their way to school by bus or foot and kidnapped for ransom.
The forgotten, a representation of a human being upside down, a metaphor for the current world situation, looking forward and upward as an element of connection with the public, with our fears and the physical challenge (oppression) is linked to a challenge mental. Every day for Africans is like an enigma to decipher, the current social situation they live in and the lack of interest from the Western world. Only one of the essential elements of the human being is represented, the expensive element through which we can admire the human soul, discovering an image of the body and movement for each different person; creating an intimate dialogue with the public.
